Titan's lakes and atmosphere
Titan is Saturn's largest moon and the only moon in our solar system with a dense atmosphere denser than Earth's. Its thick nitrogen and methane atmosphere has a surface pressure of 1.5 bar, roughly 50% higher than Earth's. What makes Titan extraordinary is that it hosts stable bodies of liquid methane and ethane at its polar regions, making it the only object besides Earth with clear evidence of surface liquid. With its robust atmosphere and surface liquids, Titan has a methane cycle similar to Earth's water cycle. Its climate creates Earth-like landscape features including dunes, rivers, lakes, and deltas. Scientists consider Titan one of the most Earth-like worlds to study for understanding prebiotic chemistry and potential habitability.
